In the PADI Scuba Diver Course you will learn the basics to dive safely under the supervision of a Pro-Diver. You will then get a certification to dive to a depth of 12 metres (40 feet) for the rest of your life.

The PADI Scuba Diver Course is a subset of the PADI Open Water Course and aimed at people, who don’t have enough time to complete the full Open Water certification or only want to dive under supervision in the future anyways.

We teach you the basics of safe scuba diving in small groups of max. 4 students per Instructor in theory, a pool session and 2 Open Water Dives and you will reach your first certification.

If you don’t have much time, you can reach your first certification level within just 2 days at La Libertad Diving

This is how you get your PADI SCUBA DIVER

within 2 days you will learn the basics necessary to dive safely & relaxed under supervision of a dive pro to 12 metres.

We will adjust the schedule where necessary to accommodate your holiday plans, but in general these are the course parts for you to take to become a PADI Scuba Diver

Part 1: Theory

Starting with an introduction to your Instructor we will first finish all the necessary paperwork. Then we get you started with the theory.

The PADI Scuba Diver as a subset of the Open Water Diver covers 3 out of 5 chapters of the full course.

For each chapter there is a PADI video and  knowledge reviews as self study to fill out. In these chapters  you will get introduced to the basics of diving. After your self-study your Instructor will go through any missed questions and tell you more about, how this theory is actually used in real-life diving.

Topics include the scuba equipment, buoyancy control, safe diving practices, emergency procedures as well as the environment.

Each chapter will be finished with a little 10-question multiple choice quiz with a pass rate of 75%.

If you really don’t like spending time of your holiday learning theory and rather save that time by doing it beforehand, check out the PADI Elearning Open Water Option. This can allow you to take the Full PADI Certification in as little as 2 days as well.

Part 2: Pool-Training

Here is where the fun starts: Your training in one of our own resort swimming pools.

You will learn all the skills you need everyday as a diver, under supervision of a dive pro, as well as a few safety procedures just in case of the unlikely event that something goes wrong.

You will start in very shallow water to take your first breaths underwater to slowly progress into the deeper end of the pool to practice on skills like swimming underwater weightless.

This is the place to take all the time you need to gain the confidence you need as a safe diver. So at La Libertad Diving we don’t set a time for you to practice your skills, but usually it takes between half a day to a full day to reach your goal. If you need more time, then you will get it – without any extra charge.

Part 3: Open Water Dives

After you have gained your confidence and knowledge in the classroom and pool, it is time to get out to use all this on the final (and most likely best) part of your course: Your Open Water Dives.

The PADI Scuba Diver Course consists of 2 Open Water Dives. These dives will bring you to a maximum depth of 12 metres (40 feet) and give you plenty of time to practice your skills and underwater swimming which you have learned in the pool. .

After this you can call yourself a PADI Scuba Diver and it is time to celebrate your certification.

To upgrade this course in the future, you will need to complete 2 more chapters of each element and the final two dives. It can be upgraded at any time.
